Geminis by James Zee

Geminis' publication history

Geminis has been published in Spain, Italy, Argentina, Germany, Australia and France.1 Many of these printings have not yet been identified.

The logo/mashead on the Spirit (Garbo, Spain) printings differs from those on the KG Murray (Australian) and L'Echo des Savanes (French) versions, suggesting that they are from a different distribution of the artwork.

Spain

The series was first published in Spain in 1976-1977 in eight successive issues of the magazine that reprinted Will Eisner most famous hero, The Spirit (Garbo, Spain).2 The first four stories were also subsequently published in Papel Vivo 103 and 144 (De la Torre, Spain) in 1979-1980.

Italy

The long-running weekly Italian anthology comic Lanciostory (Eura Editoriale, Italy) published all eight episodes on a roughly monthly schedule in Volume IV5, beginning with issue 13, 3 April 1978.6

France

Geminis was published under the title Phil Jackson as a back up in the digest size Marouf (Imperia, France), probably beginning issue 108 (1978?).7

The final episode of Virus (L'Echo des Savanes, France) included the first episode of Geminis (1981).8 The series does not appear to continue in the publisher's other comics.

Australia

KG Murray published Geminis first in issues of Climax Adventure Comic9 in 1975-1976, before transferring the series to Super Giant Album10 in 1976.
