Biography
Bierman worked as editor for pulp magazines Best Stories, Nickel Detective, Two Gun Stories and Wild West Stories (1926-1930s).
While Feature Comics editor Reese Rosenfield was in the navy, Bierman oversaw production at the company.
He became a long-running editor (1943-1956) working on comics such as Frankenstein Comics, Headline Comics, Prize Comics, Prize Comics Western and Treasure Comics. He also worked on many gag cartoon magazines, including Army Laughs, Broadway Laughs, Laff Time and Dolls & Gags.
He was also an editor of the company's men's magazine Glance (Headline Publications) around 1950.
By the sixties, Bierman was the owner of Feature/Headline/Crestwood Publications.
