Biography

Litchfield provided numerous cartoons for The Bulletin in the twenties, bookplate illustrations during the thirties and newspaper illustrations for The World's News in the forties. He worked predominantly in woodcuts, although he often substituted scraperboard for timber because it was faster.

In September 1944, Litchfield, along with Edward Shelley, Walter Jardine and Harry Wann, illustrated a souvenir "Five Years of War" (The Sunday Sun, 3/9/44).
