"Modern Boating" was originally published by Modern Magazines, before a series of sales that transferred the title to Murray Publishers in 1979 and then the Federal Publishing, via ACP. In 1998, FPC merged its various subsidiaries under the new company banner, IPMG (Independent Print Media Group), jointly owned by the Hannan family and Marinya Media.
