Aussie

Aussie the Australian Soldiers' Magazine (Australian Imperial Force, 1918 series) has been grouped as part of a series of titles with related contents.

Aussie started as Aussie the Australian Soldiers' Magazine, focused on opinion, review and entertainment. It was published in France and Belgium after World War I, edited by Phillip Harris.

The magazine was not published from May 1919 to March 1920. From that time, it was published in Australia as Aussie the Cheerful Monthly, then Aussie the National Monthly and finally just Aussie. The series focused on 'digger culture', defend the rights of the veterans, and helped returned soldiers re-adjust into civilian life.

The magazine published major Australian cartoonists, including Noel Cook, Alex Gurney, Frank Jessup, Brodie Mack and Emile Mercier.

A New Zealand edition was published in Wellington featuring Australian material and a New Zealand supplement, edited by journalist Pat Lawlor.
