Magman Mixed 1971 '11' series
Bugs Bunny Giant Edition (Rosnock Publications, 1971) has been grouped as part of a series of titles with continued numbering.
From December 1965, Magazine Management comics were published as one-shot issues with 'catalog numbers' on the cover, rather than individual titles in sequentially numbered series.
Magman's Giant/Jumbo editons ran through several series restarting at '01' or '001':
1965-1966 series: 35 and 36 prefixes.
1967-1970 series: 37, 38, 39 and 40 prefixes.
1971 '11' series: 11 prefixes.
1971-1974 series: 41, 42, 43 and 44 prefixes.
1975 series: 45 prefix.
1976 series: 46 prefix.
1978 series: 48 prefix.
1979 series: 49 prefix.
1982-1984 series: R22, R23 and R24 prefixes.
1985 series: R25 prefix.
Magman Giants include this brief series with '11' prefixes that don't fit the overall pattern. It's possible Magman used these when it reached '99' in its two digit numbering system in late 1970—subsequent years use three digits ('001'). There were no comics published with codes for 1977.
The prefixes provide a guide to the year of publication, although some issues were released late the previous year for sale in the year shown in the prefix.
Magman published distinct runs of catalog numbers for Standard, Top Comics, Pocket 'Picture Stories', Pocket Romance, Giant/Jumbo and Rebound editions.
