"Duncan-Gouws Photo-Novels" is a group of four related titles/one-shots.
Seven titles were advertised, but not all are confirmed to have been published: Black Eagle, Sister Lydia, Don Kent, Song of Love, Syklone, Tana and Johnny Mac.
These publications are English translations of South African 'photo stories', a publishing phenomenon in that country from the 1960s to the 1980s. There were dozens of titles issued by several publisher spanning a range of genres, such as Westerns, spy/espionage, romance, war, masked vigilantes, jungle heroes, etc. Editions were published in English and Afrikaans, while some titles were published specifically for the black (African) population, some of which were originally serialised in True Africa Magazine.
The publisher's companies, Duncan-Gouws Publications Pty. Ltd, Peters-Stone Publications W.A. Pty. Ltd, Photo-Novels Distributors Pty. Ltd, were disolved on 29 May 1970 (Government Gazette, W.A. page 1438, 29 May 1970).
