Valentine

Valentine (Fleetway Publications Ltd., 1960 series) has been grouped as part of a series of titles with continued numbering.

Valentine ran 927 issues from 19 January 1957 to 9 November 1974, when it was incorporated into Mirabelle. Issues up to about 1959 included issue numbers (up to approximately #130, possibly at the time Amalgamated Pess was sold).

Over the years, a number of titles were incorporated into Valentine: TV Fan on 6 February 1960; Serenade on 16 February 1963; Roxy on 21 September 1963; and Marilyn on 25 September 1965.

The magazine was initially published by Amalgamated Press, which was acquired by the Mirror Group (Fleetway Publications) in 1959. Fleetway was merged into IPC in 1963, although the Fleetway name continued to be used until 1968 when IPC publications were reorganised into IPC Magazines. The exact issue when the publisher changes is unknown.

If Valentine was published every week from 19 January 1957 to 9 November 1974, a total of 930 issues would have been published. This suggests three weekly issues were not published at some stage during the run, given the regularly reported total of 927 issues.
