Milo

Milo's Wonderful Journey (Nestlé Company, 1951?) has been grouped as part of a series of reprints.

While Nestlé produced a children's comic based on its Milo product, it doesn't seem to have used the same imagery in any of its advertising. However, the advertisements in other publications help date these two reprints.

The Milo cans shown in each of the editions varies slightly.

Milo's Wonderful Journey features a can that was promoted from about July 1948 until June 1954. The can has dropped the previous claim that Milo 'induces peaceful sleep', but states that it contains 'not less than 6.25% fat'.

The Wonderful Story of Milo features a very similar can that was promoted from about July 1954 until June 1957. The can states that it contains 'not less than 8.5% fat'. From about July 1957, all 'health' claims disappear from tins in promotions.

Milo's Wonderful Journey also uses the tag line 'One of Nestlé's good things'. Australian Nestlé advertisements used the tag line 'Another of Nestlé's good things' periodically, notably in 1951 and again in 1955 and 1956.

The Wonderful Story of Milo uses the tag line 'If it's Nestle's, it's good - very good!'. The phrase 'it's good… very good' appears in Nestlé advertising from 1954 to 1955.

It seems likely that Milo's Wonderful Journey was published about 1951 and The Wonderful Story of Milo in about 1954/55.
