Scientific Thriller
The Murder I Don't Remember (Transport Publishing Co. Pty. Ltd., 1952?) has been grouped as part of a series of titles with continued numbering.
This pulp novel series ran for 43 titles, published monthly from November 1948 to May 1952. Most issues are not numbered. The page count varied from 32 pages to 52 pages. The publisher was initially listed as Associated General Publications, but changed to Transport Publishing Co. from issue #3 (January 1949).
This series included Australian work under house pseudonyms, The most frequent contributors were Alan G Yates [as Paul Valdez] and G C Bleeck [as Belli Luigi], although it is reported that other authors also used these pseudonyms.
Some covers were by Australian comics artists, particularly Maurice Bramley. "Strange Constellations: A History of Australian Science Fiction" reports that the covers were printed in batch lots with the author and title fixed, so that the writer wrote a story to match under the house pseudonym.
www.sf-encyclopedia.com reports that Alister Innes and Donald H Beard were the uncredited editors. The issue contents are broadly crime, western and adventure stories generally set in a science fiction context. The writing is reported to be mediocre to poor.
