Each story page is composed of a single episode of Dan Eagle. It's unknown if these were newspaper strips or simply designed in that format.

There is conflicting information about the dating of this issue, but it is confirmed as October 1954. The first issue of this series was advertised for October in Silver Flash #50 (mid-1954). The included Boofhead Annual advertisement suggests this issue is 1952 or 1953. The pricing indicates around 1954-1956. The issue is often dated 1954, which could just be based on the story's theme and cover reference to "a land where today's headlines are being made". The first Indochina war ended with French defeat in 1954. The second Indochina war (Vietnam War) began November 1955, with US troop levels escalating in the early 1960s. Australia formally entered the war in 1962. The map on page one uses Siam, which was not officially used for Thailand after 1949. There is nothing about the story that fixes it to a partular year, although Dan's plane takes off on 15 April.
