This comic was produced nationally by the Communist Party of Australia for the 1958 federal election. It is part comic, part series of cartoons. The title is clearly based on the title of 'They’re a Weird Mob' by John O'Grady [as Nino Culotta] which was first published in 1957.
A copy is available on-line (http://www.reasoninrevolt.net.au/bib/PR0002019.htm) with with the Port Adelaide/Bonython how-to-vote card. This card featured Elliot Johnston who was to become the only communist to serve as an Australian judge in the Supreme Court of South Australia. He presided over the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody (1987-91).
Other variants include "Authorised by Wollongong Waterside Worker's Federation, Out-Menzies Committee"; and "Authorised by J. Kennedy, election campaign organiser, Seamen's Union of Australia."
