On 3 December 1898, Welsh newspaper the 'Evening Express' reported that shipowner Mr. William Price had sought to restrain George Newnes from distributing further copies of this issue on the grounds that the article "The Voyagess of the Moleholl" was libellous. The ship Molehill, which was claimed to be rotten and with a drunken crew, was determined to be a thin disguise for Price's ship the Mohill, that was lost in 1894. George Newnes apologised, but the judged determined the issue was serious and awarded £500 damages and 100 guineas costs.
