The first issue of Color-Comics was distributed in metropolitan but not regional editions of the Daily Telegraph on Tuesday 14 November 1939 as well as in that week's Australian Women's Weekly. The second edition appearing in the first issue of the Sunday Telegraph that week.

On Monday 13 November 1939, the Telegraph announced that the edition on Tuesday and the current Women's Weekly would 'carry a free 16-page all-color Comic, which will be a regular feature of the Sunday Telegraph from next Sunday, November 19, onwards'. On Tuesday 14 November 1939, the Telegraph said, 'We would have liked to give this Comic to all readers of the Daily Telegraph, too, but pressure of the time schedule on which newspapers are produced prevents us.' (see trove.nla.gov.au/newsp…/article/247827990/27258423)

On Wednesday 15 November 1939, the message was 'People phoned from everywhere to congratulate the Sunday Telegraph on its enterprise in bringing to Sydney this new comic feature, which was distributed in yesterday's issue of the Women's Weekly and metropolitan edition of the Daily Telegraph. The second issue, with 21 different comics strips, all in color, will be included with the Sunday Telegraph next Sunday.' (see trove.nla.gov.au/newsp…/article/247825396/27258439)
