"Pictured in the accompanying photo are four unidentified soldiers from 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), stationed in Korea, reading an assortment of newspapers and magazines sent from home.

"Next to the soldier in the bottom left-hand corner, a copy of the first issue of "The Ghost Rider" (published by Atlas Publications, Melbourne) can be seen lying on a box.

"This photograph was taken by Phillip Oliver Hobson, and dates from December 1950, according to the accompanying record from the Australian War Memorial (https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C361107)

"The Australian series of The Ghost Rider was created by J. Morath, who wrote and illustrated the first 4-5 issues (?), before it was handed over to West Australian artist Terry Trowell, who remained on the comic until the series concluded with its 57th issue towards the end of 1956."
