As a young artist, Vigoda joined MLJ Comics and did scripts and art for Archie almost from the beginning when Bob Montana started working on the Archie character. Vigoda remained until his death.
When 'Wilbur' was spun off in 1944 as the company's first Archie clone title, Vigoda was the main artist. The same year he became the main artist on Archie's title.
Vigoda also working on features such as 'The Black Hood', 'Roy, the Super Boy', 'Wilbur', Flying Dragons', 'Dusty', 'The Shield' and 'Wizard'.
Vigoda also did advertising art.
He is the brother of Abe Vigoda, a screen, stage and television star known for series like Barney Miller.
