Tamblyn-Watts was the son of Thomas Tamblyn-Watts, an author and publisher. Educated at Southend School of Art, he worked as a manager for the Emmett Group in 1935–48.
His most well-known comics work was a short stint drawing Supercar in TV Comic (Polystyle Publications) from 18 March until 2 September 1961. For TV Comic, he also illustrated 'On the Danger Trail with Grahame Dangerfield'.
Tamblyn-Watts' longest-running strip work was 'Katie Country Mouse' in Jack and Jill, where he replaced Philip Mendoza in 1964 and continued until 1973. Other comics include 'Out and About with Uncle Ben' (Jack and Jill), 'The Pingwings' (TV Playland), and 'Gregory Grasshopper' (Look and Learn Magazine), and various annuals, including illustrations for text stories in Eagle and Girl Annuals.
Tamblyn-Watts also illustrated a number of books, especially animal and nature books for young children, such as The Modern World: Book of animals (Sampson, Low, Marston & Co. Ltd., ~1950) and Our Little Friends (Rylee Ltd, ~1950).
He also exhibited watercolours.
