Biography
Barnes worked with comics artist Hal English on children's books during the early 1970s.
Barnes also wrote textbooks. He was editor of the Modern Encyclopaedia of Australia, and New Zealand (1964) and the Encyclopaedia of Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea (1965).
