Biography

Kinnear was the writer, artist and publisher responsible for The Kookaburra, the first 'all-Australian comic' (1931-1932), which was modelled on the British style of children's papers and comics.

She also drew 'Ben and Claude’ and 'Temple of the Lost’ in The Comet (1936-1937), alongside illustrations and covers by Syd Nicholls, and wrote and illustrated the children's book The Giant’s Pancake: An Australian Fairy Story (John Sands ~1939).

Notes

Some sources incorrectly report that she was involved with the NSW Bookstall one-shot comic Dad, Dave n’ Daisy – The New Aussie Comic (~1944).
