Holledge contributed stories to World's news in the late forties.

During the fifties and sixties, he wrote for KG Murray's men's magazines, including Man, Cavalcade and Man's Epic.

Holledge wrote a series of 45 non-fiction books for Horwitz between 1961 and 1970.

He also worked as a journalist for most of his career.
