Founded on May 18, 1945 by Adolfo Aizen and started publishing comic books in 1946, later operated by two of his sons, Paulo Adolfo Aizen and Naumin Aizen. Until the early 1990s, EBAL reprinted a wide variety of US and European comics as well as printing original Brazilian material. The company is probably best known for the Brazilian line of Classics Illustrated which was the first international CI series to add original titles.
